Pakistani mosque cleric arrested for raping 13-year-old girl
Pakistani mosque cleric was arrested for allegedly raping a minor madrassa student, media reports said.
According to the first information report, the girl had been attending Quranic lessons at the seminary in Azam Town, Renala, where around seven months ago, the cleric allegedly raped her and threatened her into silence, reported Dawn News.
The widowed mother of the 13-year-old girl became suspicious when her daughter's condition changed.
The girl disclosed the incident to her mother after she asked her about the situation.
A medical examination later confirmed she was seven months pregnant.
Meanwhile, the suspect fled but police managed to trace and arrest him.
