Two masked gunmen attack Italian church in Turkey, one dies

The attack reportedly took place when a religious ceremony was underway.

Yerlikaya wrote on X that two masked gunmen attacked the church at around 11.40 local time.

"A large-scale investigation into the issue and efforts to catch the attackers have been initiated," he posted on X.

"We strongly condemn this vile attack," he said.

The motive behind the attack is still not clear.
