US school teacher arrested for asking students to write ways to kill a classmate in their assignment
A US school teacher was arrested for allegedly giving students an assignment where he asked them to come up with different “ways to kill” one of his students, media reports said.
The identity of the teacher has not been revealed so far.
The unidentified Crestwood Middle School teacher instructed his students to write how they would kill one particular student in the class in January 2022, according to court documents obtained by WTKR Thursday as quoted by New York Post.
The documents state that the assignment came from another student in the class, but the teacher went along with it, the newspaper reported.
According to reports, students pulled out thier tablets and following the assignment mentioned ways to kill the selected classmate.
Documents outline how the ideas from the students included chopping him up, throwing him out the window, burning him alive and feeding him to a dog, reported WTKR.
Police was informed about the incident after the bullied student went home and told his parents about the incident.
When asked by authorities why this happened, records state that the teacher said it was hard to engage the class and the student at the center of the assignment didn’t appear upset, but the teacher agreed it was an inappropriate assignment and told police it was an error in judgment, reported WTKR.
The teacher later pleaded guilty to one misdemeanour of contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
