The operation took place on Monday as terrorists targeted an Army vehicle in the Asan, Sunderbandi Sector of Akhnoor in Jammu and Kashmir.
A massive search operation was launched to find the terrorists.
A terrorist was killed in a search-cordon operation and the army recovered warlike stores.
Last year, six-year-old army dog Kent was killed while saving the life of a soldier during an encounter in Jammu and Kashmir.
