11 police outposts upgraded to police stations

In order to expand the policing, the state government in a significant decision has upgraded 11 police outposts into police stations.

A notification issued by the Home department of the state government on Friday said that  11 police outposts including Bagma, Chelagong, Manpathar, Baizalbari, Taibandal, Khayerpur, Bagpasa, Champaknagar, College Tilla, GB and Ramnagar has been upgraded into police stations and from now, these police outposts will function as police station.

With the induction of 11 new police stations, now the total number of police stations across all eight districts of Tripura has been increased to 88 police stations.

Among the 11 outposts, three are in areas of Agartala Municipal Corporation (AMC) including College Tilla, GB and Ramnagar, which function till the new notification under West and East Agartala police stations. Another outpost at the outskirts of Agartala city, Khayerpur , which is functioning under Budhjungnagar police station will now function as a new police station.

As per the notification of the Home department, new Bagma police station will cover the revenue villages of Bagma part, Kupilong part,Radhakishore RF part,Koraimura, Barobhaiya, Bagbasa and Tepania part. Chelagong police station will cover the areas of  South Chelagong, Laogang, North Chelagong, North Ekcherri and Kumracheoya.

New Manpathar police station will cover the areas of revenue villages of Birchandra Manu, South Takma, North Takma, East and West Paticherri, East and West Manu and Rajapur.

Baizalbari police station will have jurisdiction of revenue villages of Baizalbari, Chankhala, Sarat Chowdhury Para, South Padmabil and Lankapura. Taibandal police station will cover the areas of Chandul, North Taibandal and South Taibandal. Khayerpur police will have the jurisdiction of revenue village of East Agartala police station, part of Briddhinagar.

Bagpasa police station will cover the areas of West and East Bagpasa and  North  and South Ganganagar, Champaknagar police station will cover the areas of East and Middle Devendranagar GP, Champaknagar VC, West Devendranagar VC, East Belbari VC, Rasa Dasarathnagar VC, Shantinagar VC, Bikram Malsam VC, Brigudas VC, Khamtingbari VC and Champabari VC.

The new College Tilla police station will cover the areas of Vidyasagar, Bankumari, Mahashakti, Aralia, West Champamura, Sukanta Palli, Adarsha Colony, Katashowla, and Rentus colony.

GB police station will cover the areas of Harijon colony, Jyotirmoy Colony, 79-Tilla, Sarada Palli, Kumari Tilla, North Jagatpur, East and West Chanmari, Indranagar, S D Choumohani, Naoyagaon, Kamalakanta Para, Naoyagaon Krishnagar, Nayanimura, Laddu Choumohani west part, Nandannagar, Paul Para and Marak Para. Ramnagar police station of Agartala city will cover the areas of Agartala Sheet number-1 including Ranjitnagar, Ramnagar road numbers 10,11,12, Agartala sheet number-2 including Ramnagar road numbers-7,8,9 and under sheet number-3 Ramnagar 5 and 6, under sheet number-4, Ramnagar road numbers-1,2,3 and 4, under sheet number-9, the areas of Durga Choumohani andright side of Albert club, MLA hostel areas, part of Barjala and Lankamura and will also cover Indo-Bangla bordering areas of Lankamura, Border Gul Chakkar etc.
