Tripura to host first time two days Northeast Regional Security Coordination conference in Agartala on November 8th and 9th next, the Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha will inaugurate the conference, which would be attended by all DGPs of the NE states along with heads of central police organizations and central armed police forces of the region.

Chief Minister in his 'Rashtriya Ekta Diwas' speech in AD Nagar police ground on Monday last , said that for the first, the DGP conference for all Northeastern states will be held in the state on November 8th and 9th next.

Official sources said that Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA), officials from central intelligence agencies are also scheduled to be present in the regional security meet.

Sources added that during the regional security meet, the authorities will discuss issues to enhance coordination among the security agencies - both Central and state on security matters. Insurgency, border related issues including drug menace, trans-border crime and sharing of intelligence inputs are among the top agenda of the meeting.

The regional security meet is seen as important keeping in mind the growing security concern along the international border with China, Myanmar and Bangladesh.

Anti-Indian forces are still active across the border to create unrest in the Northeast. Be it arms smuggling or drug supply or circulation of fake Indian currency notes and insurgency - all originated from the neighbouring countries and these issues will come up for discussion in the conference and find a solution to tackle the growing situation.
