Congress overwhelmed with success of Bharat Jodo Yatra, Sudip

Despite many attacks on their 10 days long foot procession in all 60 assembly constituencies of the state, the Pradesh Congress on Tuesday claimed that lakhs of state people have spontaneously supported their “Bharat Jodo - Tripura Bacho Yatra”.

Addressing a press conference here at Congress Bhavan on Tuesday , senior party leader and MLA Sudip Roy Barman accompanied by former MLA Ashish Kumar Saha and  AICC secretary  Ms Szarita Laitphlang, said that “Bharat Jodo - Tripura Bacho Yatra”, which started on November 19 last, ended on November 28 by covering all sixty assembly seats , 16 sectors and covering  stretches of 1400 kilometers approximately, the Congress received spontaneous support from cross section of the society.

He said that spreading the messages of Rahul Gandhi, the foot march has received a remarkable response from a cross section of people of Tripura  and thousands of Congress supporters and workers from across the state joined the ‘Yatra’ in different subdivisions of the state.

Roy Barman said that the  Congress launched the Yatra for the people of the state to oust the ‘autocratic’ BJP government from Tripura  and in support of their voices against high inflation,  against religious polarization politics of BJP and demanding jobs for unemployed youths of the state. But, during the Yatra, miscreants owing allegiance to the ruling party through their violent politics attacked many places in front of police forces and injured dozens of Congress workers and leaders. Despite many attempts to discontinue the Yatra and braving all attacks and conspiracies, the Congress workers continued their days-long Yatra and connected with lakhs of people of the state, said Sudip.

He said that the  yatra does not belong to the Congress and they had covered hundreds of kilometers to highlight the issues related to the people of the state and the party received overwhelming support. He also by getting enormous support from the state’s people , Congress workers are now strengthening their movements against the BJP government and vowed that to protect the interest of common people, the Congress will oust the ‘autocratic’ BJP from Tripura.

He also strongly castigated the state government and claimed that BJP miserably failed to maintain their commitments and lakhs of people during their foot procession asked them about betrayal politics of BJP.

While speaking in the press meet AICC secretary  Ms Szarita Laitphlang ruled out any possible changes of Pradesh leadership and claimed that a section of media on behalf of BJP are spreading rumours with intention of discouraging Congress workers through their fabricated division among the state leaders of Congress. She urged the people of the state not to believe in such rumours and claimed that all PCC leaders through their united stand will give a befitting reply to BJP in coming days for their propaganda based politics.
