CPI (M) celebrates birth anniversary of Lenin

With clarion calls to revive and strengthen the political bases of CPI (M) after the 2023 poll debacle, the top leaders of the party urged workers to continue their struggle against the oppressive politics of the ruling party.

While, celebrating the 154th birth anniversary of Vladimir Ilyich Ulyanov, better known by Lenin on April 22 at Agartala town hall, former Chief Minister and CPI (M) politburo member Manik Sarkar said that 60% of the total voters of the state had cast their vote against BJP and they got winning figure due to dubious role of one regional opposition political party.

He said that victory and defeat is a part of political struggle. After losing the elections, a Communist cannot stop his social works and political movements against oppression politics ruling class to continue.

Speaking in the birth anniversary celebration, CPI (M) state secretary and MLA Jitendra Chaudhury said that after the detailed discussion and reviewing the last assembly elections, the party’s state committee has found that large-number of middle class and new voters had voted for Left parties and now time has come to revive the organizations of the party to prepare all out movements to protect the interest of common people.

He said that unprecedented violence and oppression were witnessed by the people of the state during the last five years rule of BJP and after getting the majority in the 2023 assembly elections, the BJP-IPFT alliance intensified their attacks on opposition by destroying the democratic spirit of the country.

He urged the party supporters and leaders to strengthen their movements against the violent politics of the ruling party and develop their mass contact with common people of Tripura.
