After a gap of nearly three months, the donation boxes and vaults of the revered Tripura Sundari Temple of Udaipur were opened on Monday for counting of offerings.

The counting process began in the morning with the opening of 16 vaults and donation boxes located within the temple premises and continued throughout the day till evening.

According to administrative sources, apart from Indian currency, several foreign currencies were also recovered from the donation boxes. These included US Dollars, Saudi and Kuwaiti Dinars, Nepalese currency, and Bangladeshi Taka. The presence of foreign currencies reflects the growing popularity of the temple among international tourists and pilgrims as well.

To ensure smooth and transparent counting, the Gomati district administration formed a special 16-member team for the process. The counting started early in the morning, though intermittent rainfall caused minor disruptions at times. Despite this, the entire exercise was conducted under strict security arrangements and administrative supervision, said Deputy Collector Chandrashekhar Chattopadhyay. He further informed that the counting process was expected to conclude between 8 pm and 9 pm.

Temple authorities stated that the collected donations would be utilized for various developmental activities, including renovation and maintenance of the temple, conducting religious rituals and festivals, and improving facilities for devotees.

A special incident during the counting process drew widespread attention and admiration. CRPF jawan Buddhadeb Das donated his entire first month’s salary of Rs 33,310 at the feet of the deity as an offering. His selfless gesture deeply moved devotees and visitors present at the temple.

The huge volume of donations once again reflected the immense faith and devotion of worshippers towards Goddess Tripura Sundari. The offering count also highlighted the temple’s growing significance among devotees from both India and abroad.
