Apart from Modi, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, ambassadors of 17 countries were among the attendees.

After unveiling a plaque, the Prime Minister planted a sapling in the new campus.

1. I am fortunate to get an opportunity to come to Nalanda University within 10 days after taking oath for the third term as Prime Minister. I interpret this as an auspicious sign of India's developmental journey.

7. The presence of representatives of so many countries for an inauguration of a university campus is unprecedented.

8. Our neighbouring countries had contributed to the revival of Nalanda University. I congratulate all the friendly countries of India.

9. The new campus of Nalanda University is an inspiration for Bihar, which is moving forward in the developmental journey.
