Jul 8, 2024 ..

While hearing a batch of petitions regarding the re-examination of NEET-UG 2024,  Chief Justice DY Chandrachud on Monday said the leak of the medical examination entrance paper is an 'admitted fact'.

He stated that before making a decision to hold a re-examination, 'we must be conscious of the extent of the leak as we are dealing with 23 lakh students', reported India Today.

A bench led by Chief Justice DY Chandrachud, along with Justices JB Pardiwala and Manoj Misra, is reviewing as many as 38 petitions related to the exam.

The NEET-UG exam, taken by nearly 24 lakh aspiring medical students, was held on May 5, and the results were released on June 4.

Despite the National Testing Agency (NTA)'s efforts to manage the situation, allegations of a widespread leak continued with protests and legal actions nationwide.

The Supreme Court also got involved, slamming the NTA for its handling of the issue.
